What To Wear

“There is no such thing as bad weather, just unfortunate clothing choices”

The 25-minute sleigh ride involves an 1800 ft. vertical rise. By the time you reach the top, it could be quite cold. Please dress for nighttime/winter conditions.

Wear a winter coat, hat, gloves, and warm footwear. Once inside the yurt, it will be warm and cozy. We recommend you dress in layers. This will ensure comfort during the chilly sleigh ride and in the toasty dining room.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a reservation for dinner?

Yes. Click on the Make Reservation button in the navigation to reserve your spot. The Dinner experience is 5:45pm - 9:45pm.

  • Regarding dinner, what if I want to come up later or come down earlier than everyone else?

Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate late arrivals or early departures due to the limited availability of our resources. With only one sleigh and snow cat at our disposal, it is necessary for all participants to ascend and descend the mountain collectively.

  • Will we have our own table?

While you will be seated with your party, depending on your group size, you may also have the opportunity to share the banquet table with other diners. Immersing yourself in the Nordic tradition of dining alongside strangers at a banquet table draws inspiration from the 'hygge' spirit, combining the joy of communal feasting with the warmth of human interaction.

  • Is alcohol included in the price of dinner?

Alcohol is not included in the price of dinner. The servers will present you with a bill for drink orders at the end of the evening . Please visit our Beverage Menu for a full listing of drinks available for purchase at the yurt.

  • Are gratuities included on beverage sales?

No, but at the end of the evening, the servers will present you with a bill for drink orders, at which point you can include a gratuity.

  • Can I bring my own alcohol?

Absolutely. Guests may bring their own wine and champagne. Personal wine and champagne are subject to a corkage fee of $20/bottle and $30/magnum.

PLEASE NOTE, it is unlawful to bring your own beer or liquor into a restaurant and drinking is not allowed on the sleigh ride.

  • Do you accommodate vegetarians and other dietary requests?

We can happily accommodate dietary request. It is important that your food allergies and preferences  be noted on your reservation well in advance of your event date. If you do not specify otherwise before the date of your reservation, the Braised Short Ribs (by far our most popular dish) will be presented as your entree.

  • How do I request an alternate entree?

You can add dietary requests when you are booking your experience on the reservation page. If you already have a reservation please email us at dining@vikingyurt.com or call 435-800-5134 and we will add the substitutions to your reservation.

  • Can I change my food order after I arrive at the yurt?

Unfortunately, no. Because of our complicated logistics, only the meals that are ordered as of the morning of your reservation are brought up to the yurt.

  • Do you offer group discounts?

Due to our limited capacity, short operating season, and waiting list we do not offer a discount for groups or children.

  • Can we move tables to accommodate more than 10 people at a table?

The tables are actually bolted to the floor and are not moveable.
